June

June has been a really busy month. We drove to Iowa twice in two weeks. We had already been planning a trip home for Brent's parent's surprise anniversary party, but I went a week early with Nile and Emmy for a funeral. A good friend of the family passed away after battling cancer. The trip with Nile and Emmy alone was pretty rough on the way to Iowa, but the way home went smoothly and was much better once we reached Kansas City and picked up our friends, who then road with us to Wichita and stayed a few days. On Thursday Brent's sister and her family drove through and stopped here on their way to Iowa. Friday and Saturday we had graduation events for the residency. Then Saturday night we left for Iowa at 10:30pm, but this time Brent was with us!
We had family pictures on Sunday and then successfully surprised Brent's parents Sunday evening.
Ben and Stephanie were also in Iowa the first time I went, so it was great to see them!
Emmy is 5 moths old and has been eating some rice cereal, it's pretty messy, but she likes it.
