Party Time!

Emmy's first birthday party was this weekend and we had a lot of fun!  The little girls got tutus and tiaras and the boys got little crowns (much smaller then I thought they were going to be, oh well)
Emmy had her first pizza and cake and Nile was happy he got to blow out her candle! She received lots of wonderful gifts and had fun playing with the kids!

By the way it was in the 70s both yesterday and Friday!!! It was absolutely beautiful and we played outside all day!  But by tomorrow it is supposed to be in the teens :-(

Happy First Birthday EMMY!

Today Emmy is ONE! I can not believe how fast this year has gone!  Our little Emelia Rose is growing up so fast!  Last week my parents were in town and Emmy got her birthday gifts from Grammy, Papa, Uncle Joe and Aunt Abby!

She has gotten a couple boxes in the mail as well! Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Ben and Aunt Stephanie sent her gifts.  It's kind of nice to get them spread out so she can enjoy them and not be overloaded.

You may begin to notice Nile wearing pajamas a lot.  He changes into them every day for his nap!

Today after I dropped Nile off at school, I took her to get her pictures taken.  I have been taking them myself, but I have found it difficult to get a good one of her.  I thought it was because most of my "good" pictures have been taken outside.......turns out, its Emmy!  She ran all over the studio today!  It was HARD to get her to look at the camera, look up, and hold still!  I have fully intended on only spending the $10 for the one pose package, but alas her cuteness won me over and I got more then that..... Oh well. Sorry Dave Ramsey.  Oh, and it's annoying that they don't give you the higher resolution and edited images....

Her Birthday Party is this weekend! I can't wait :-)  I guess it is sort of Princess themed.  Nile calls Emmy a princess every time she wears a tutu.  We did give her a princes plate, bowl, fork and spoon set for her Birthday this morning.  I think we will give her her other gift tonight.

The next big event coming up is Emmy's 1st Birthday! I can't believe she is almost one already!
I ordered stuff for her party today! So fun!

2011

My first post of 2011! I don't know what we have been up to, but it hasn't been blogging! 
We have been getting our house ready to put on the market.  I have been de-cluttering and organizing the house, room by room. I have a pile of boxes in the basement ready to be taken to a storage unit.  We are going to rent one to get all the excess junk out of the way that we have acquired over the last 8.5 years!  We also painted a large portion of the house.  Our house was brand new when we moved in, however we soon realized that it had flat paint and flat paint is EVIL!  You can NOT wipe anything off of it because the paint comes right off.  Last year I painted Nile and Emmy's rooms and I discovered that the builder didn't even use primer, it took at least one gallon per room and the rooms are not that big.  I feel like I still need to paint the laundry room and our room, but we will see.
Brent turned 30 at the end of the year.  We had a big party........ actually no one was around since it was right after Christmas. So we just celebrated as a family.  We still went and got him balloons and fun "30" plates and napkins.

We had a little bit of snow last week.  Nile was very upset that it wasn't the right kind of snow for making a snowman! However, it has started to melt so yesterday we went out there and tried to build one, though the snow still wasn't right.  We managed to build a snowtoddler.  He was happy with it! :-)

Emmy was playing in Nile's room and I heard her getting upset, I thought she had climbed into the tub with the train tracks and was stuck again, but this is what I found.
