Plainville

This weekend we went to Plainville and stayed with our cousins Charlie and Kathy while Brent worked at the hospital there.  We had a great time getting reacquainted with family.  Kathy's grandson was also there for the weekend and Nile had a great time having a constant playmate.  Kathy's other daughter came over a lot during the weekend with her children as well.  On Friday night we went to a birthday party for Kathy's great niece. Saturday we played outside then went to a graduation party.  After that we went and played at the park.  Sunday we went and saw Kathy's brother's long horn cattle and her other brother's baby cow, chickens and puppy.  Then the kids played outside in the sprinkler.  Needless to say Nile was VERY sad to leave his "friends" and keeps asking me where they are.

Playing with the camera

I am planning on getting a new camera and taking a photography class, however the camera is back ordered and the class doesn't start until September.  We got a new "point and shoot" camera, so we can still have one that fits in a purse or diaper bag, so i decided to learn all the ins and outs of it and study up so I can have more fun with my new camera when I get it.

Here is a fun function I found on my camera.  You choose the color you want to see and the rest is black and white.  The only thing is, it does not only keep the flower, for example, red it also picks it up in Niles's face.  But it is still cool and fun!

He's a Jeep guy again

Here is what Brent bought last night.
It looks as though it's going to take a little more work then we originally thought. But Nile is already working on it!  It's exciting to have a Jeep again, we sold his before we moved to Kansas and Brent has never been the same since ;-)

Saturday a friend of ours, who is starting up her photography business, came into town and photographed the kids. Here are the two sneak peak pictures she showed me. I'm so excited to see the rest!

Mother's Day Weekend

Today mothers got in free at the Tanganyika Wildlife Park, and since Nile and Emmy are free we decided to go check it out. They had lots of animals that you could pet and feed. We couldn't go into some of the exibits with the Stroller so we had to look from the outside, but sometime we will go with Brent and feed the animals too!
There were several different monkeys and almost all of them had cute little babies.

After the park we intended to go see How To Tame a Dragon with some friends, but there was some miscommunication and they went to a different theater than us. So I went to the movies by myself with a 2 1/2 year old and a 3 month old! They were really good though!
Other news for the day, Brent called us. He is doing well and we can't wait to see him tomorrow!
Emmy was laying on the floor and I thought, wow she looks like she is going to roll over! I went and got the camera and thought I better change the battery cause it was low and while I was doing that, with my back turned of course, she rolled over for the first time! I was sad I didn't see it or catch it on video

Yesterday we went to the zoo (can you tell we are trying to fill the time!?) Nile was more interested in climbing things then actually looking at the animals!

Emmy's Dedication

We dedicated Emmy at church when we were in Iowa in April. This is the outfit that I wore when I was a baby. My great grandfather bought it for me.

Nicaragua and more

I haven't posted in FOREVER!! I guess that's what two kids does to you. Things have been going pretty well here. Brent has been working A LOT. Nile loves Emmy and tries to help out with her, though I really didn't like it when he picked her up and handed her to me one day! YIKES!
Emmy is now 3 months old and has slept through the night the past 5 nights. Not only through the night, but 10+ hours at night! AWESOME!!!! Nile doesn't do that and never has!
Brent is in Nicaragua right now. He is there with 4 other doctors delivering babies and doing c-sections. He will be home Monday night and after two days alone with the two kids, IM READY! :)
