Christmas!

We stayed home this year for Christmas.  It was nice to be home for Christmas morning. Nile woke up at midnight and said "mom Santa CAME! there are a whole bunch of presents under the tree!" I said GO TO BED... and he crawled in bed with us and slept and Emmy came to our room at 3am.

 

 

Excited to see all the gift and they politely asked if they could open them! I was amazed how they opened each one by one and asked who each gift was from instead of tearing into them all. 

 

 

I didn't take many pics Christmas day.
On the 26th my parents and grandparents came up to see us and it was the first time my grandparents had met Josie.

In honor of U.S. Army Sgt. Joseph A. Richardson, the main highway and streets of Algona were lined with American Flags Friday and Saturday.  It was so moving and overwhelming to see, I'm not sure anyone could hold back tears. Thank God for our military and those who fight to protect us.
The following was sent out by the school district and it was really great to see the community come out in support.
On Friday, November 30th, fallen soldier Sgt. Joseph Richardson will be returnin

g to Algona via a military escort. The casket and escort is due to arrive in Algona around 11:45am tomorrow. At the request of Mayor Lynn Kueck, students of the Algona Community School District will be lining Hwy 169, with flags, to pay respect and show support for the Richardson family. Bertha Godfrey and Bryant Elementary students will bus to Lucia Wallace and line the west side of Hwy169 and the MS and HS students will line the east side
The streets were lined again on Saturday after the funeral when he was taken out of town for burial in Humbolt.
